The Cover Is Off!

The cover came off the vessel on last Thursday (April 26). We were running out of things to do aboard with the cover on. We have plenty to do now that the cover is off !

It has been a bit crazy the last few days . The shipyard in Rockland where we normally haul out Angelique for bottom painting and Coast Guard inspection has gotten a bit jammed up this year and can't haul us before our sailing season (we found out the day the cover came off).  Instead, we are going to head down to Boothbay Harbor Shipyard this year. We head out tomorrow (April 30) at 5 a.m. to make the trip to Boothbay.

The crew is excited to get underway and to have a change of scenery for a few days while we do bottom work on Angelique. We are there for a "shave and a haircut", as they say in the business ... clean the bottom, get new bottom paint, check the zincs, and Coast Guard inspection.

We hope to be back in the water by the end of the week. We are very fortunate that Boothbay had an opening that we could squeeze in.  Thanks to Captain Kip and the Victory Chimes crew for letting us sneak on the railway before them!
The crew has been very busy the last few days. Reports are that they are sleeping well at night!
