Neal Parent

In 2012, Neal Parent is celebrating teaching on windjammers for 30 years. That is a long time! He’s been a professional photographer for over 35 years, and the focus of his work has been Maine, its water, its landscape, its boats and people, all wonderfully coming to life through his lens.

He has published several books, and received praise from Ansel Adams who told him he knows “how very difficult it is to capture the very special essence of Maine.” Neal Parent started his photojournalist career on a small midcoast Maine newspaper, and has gone on to become one of Maine’s renowned photographers.
Since 1983, he has been teaching aboard Maine Windjammers, and has taught on Angelique for many of those years. While cruising aboard Angelique, students find lots of majestic Maine coastlines, picturesque boats and harbors, and lots of seals, whales, and birds within the range of their camera lens. His fun style of teaching, delightful sense of humor and a love of photography make every one of these cruises on Angelique a very special one! He also conducts private classes out of his Belfast, Maine darkroom, and has taught at the Maine Media Workshops in Rockport, Maine. You can find out lots more about Neal Parent at nealparent.com.
Neal Parent will be doing a Photography Workshop-Naturalist Cruise June 17 - 23 on Angelique.
